The classic French dish, beef, red wine, bacon, mushrooms and onions slowly cooked in a rich velvety sauce. Julia Child, our inspiration here, describes this as “certainly one of the most delicious beef dishes concocted by man” and we would not care to disagree. The dish can be served with any type of potatoes, but we love to eat it with buttered pasta and French style fine beans.

Heating Instructions | Defrost before heating. Pre-heat oven to 175C. Remove lid, cover with foil & bake for 30 minutes, remove foil and bake for a final 5 minutes until bubbling & hot
Serving Suggestions | Serve with buttered mash, pasta or crispy baguette and a crisp green salad
